๐ Happy Pride Month! ๐
This June, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our commitment to creating schools where every student, educator, and family feels safe, valued, and respected.
Public schools are strongest when every person is welcomed for who they are. Pride Month is a time to honor the courage, contributions, and diversity of LGBTQ+ individuals while continuing the work of building inclusive learning environments for all.
We stand with our LGBTQ+ students, colleagues, and community membersโnot just this month, but every day.

On Thursday afternoon, WSTA celebrated the end of our school year at Kickโn Mule. We had great food, amazing drinks, gave out some awesome raffle prizes, and enjoyed mingling with our fellow members. What a great way to wrap up the school year and celebrate a successful contract negotiation! Thank you to everyone who attended! ๐๐

We are blown away by the support from our WSTA members and community!
Thanks to everyone who participated in the WSTA High School Scholarship Raffle, we raised $2,861 to support our students and their future goals. This is the most we have EVER raised in a raffle! 100% of the proceeds will go directly to high school scholarships. โค๏ธ๐
Your generosity helps us invest directly in our local students. We appreciate everyone who bought raffle tickets this year. We will be sending out a list of raffle winners tomorrow. Thank you for your support and congratulations to all of our winners! ๐

Today, we honor and remember the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
As educators and union members, we recognize the importance of service, community, and protecting the freedoms that make public education possible. We are grateful to those who gave their lives in service to others, and we hold their families and loved ones in our thoughts today.
Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. ๐บ๐ธ

Last night, WSTA Vice President Jessica Pagan and President Doug Knepp were honored to present $1,000 scholarships to two very deserving students, Clayton Pour and Dafne Portillo Palacios (not pictured).
They are 2 of the 4 WUSD students who earned scholarships this year through our WSTA scholarship application process. They wrote heartfelt short essays about what public education has meant to them and their plans for higher education and beyond.
Both students were very deserving of these scholarships and we look forward to see them achieve their future endeavors.
Congratulations Clayton and Dafne! ๐ซ
