Everyone loves a burn night! Reserve Fire Company alongside our neighbors from Vigilant Fire Company headed to the Erie County Training Center for some live fire training. Crews from both companies worked on 2nd floor fire suppression as well as interior search operations. Thank you to Vigilant Fire Company for joining us, we always love working with our mutual aid companies and growing stronger together.

This morning, members of Reserve Fire took part in regular town-wide training alongside our mutual aid partners.

Reserve UTV-1 was deployed during a simulated search-and-rescue operation in partnership with the West Seneca Water Rescue Team and members from fire companies throughout the Town of West Seneca.

Members practiced operating the UTV alongside and in the waters of Cazenovia Creek, conducting simulated search-and-rescue operations and providing shore-support functions.

Training alongside our mutual aid fire companies provides valuable hands-on experience while building familiarity with each other’s personnel, equipment, and operating procedures. When a real incident occurs, that familiarity helps us communicate more effectively, work together seamlessly, and operate as one cohesive team.

Training together today helps us be better prepared to serve our community tomorrow. 🚒

Earlier this morning at around 12:49am, Reserve Truck 6 was requested for a garage fire with Windom Fire Company. After arriving on scene Reserve went right to work, overhauling the exterior of the attached garage, checking for any potential hot spots or hidden fire. Once ventilation and overhaul efforts were complete, Reserve was returned in service. Great work and organization by companies on scene.

Reserve Fire Company is saddened to hear about the recent passing of Seneca Hose firefighter Tyler Schenck. Tyler was a former member of Reserve Hose in the late 2010’s to early 2020’s. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Schenck family and our brothers and sisters over at Seneca Hose Fire Company. Rest easy Tyler.

It is with great sadness that we notify you of the loss of one of our members, Tyler Schenck, who passed away in an accident last evening.

Tyler was not only a valued and respected member of our organization, but also a member of the Erie County Department of Health, EMS Division; the Erie County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Services, Hazardous Materials Response Team; and Hamburg EMS, as well as a former member of Reserve Fire Company.

At approximately 2200 hours on August 22, 2026, emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident in the Town of Elma. Members of the Blossom Vol. Fire Company, Spring Brook Fire District #1, Erie County EMS, and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office responded and worked together to manage the incident.

Tyler was described by those who knew and worked alongside him as lovable, lighthearted, and a passionate EMS provider who genuinely cared about everyone he met. During his time serving in the fire and EMS communities, Tyler made a meaningful impact on his coworkers, fellow first responders, and the people he served. His loss will be deeply felt throughout our public safety, fire, and EMS communities. Our deepest condolences go out to the Schenck family, Tyler’s friends, and his fellow members during this incredibly difficult time.

We recognize that the sudden loss of a coworker and fellow first responder can affect each of us differently. Employees are encouraged to support one another and utilize the resources available to them. Confidential assistance is available through:
