Tangled Title and Family Land Program planned for November 2
Are you inheriting family land without a will? When that happens, it becomes heirs’ property, leaving multiple relatives as co-owners. Join us on November 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Benedum Civic Center in Bridgeport to learn how to prevent and resolve these problems. You do not need to be a farmer to attend this program. The program will be provided by Jesse Richardson.
Jesse J. Richardson, Jr. is the Hale J. and Roscoe P. Posten Professor of Law and the Lead Land Use Attorney at the Land Use and Sustainable Development Law Clinic at the West Virginia University College of Law. Before coming to WVU, Mr. Richardson was an Associate Professor in Urban Affairs and Planning at Virginia Tech. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Virginia Tech and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
This will be a dinner meeting, with the meal starting at 6 p.m. in the downstairs room at the Benedum Civic Center. The program is free, however; registration is required. To register for this training or if you have any questions, please call the Harrison County Extension office at 304-624-8650 or visit https://form.ext.wvu.edu/TTFL2026 by October 26 to reserve your spot.
