The 18th Annual Fathers & Flashlights Campout was a memorable, muddy, and super fun time! The Co-Chairs want to thank the F&F Committee, parent volunteers, and WUES leadership for being such team players and for helping us pivot dinner, the magic show, and the movie inside. Thanks to the camping parents and kiddos for making the best of a wet night. We didn’t let the downpour rain on our parade!!! What an epic weekend!

Attention F&F 2024 Campers! Lost & Found from the Campout is located at the Scout House. Please pick up your belongings as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone for another amazing year! ⛺️🙌🫶

REMINDER!!!! Fathers & Flashlights campers…pick up your Family Bags this Friday, November 1st between 8 am and Noon at the Scout House at 6018 Edloe. This bag contains important items including the volunteer shirts that are required to be worn during the volunteer shifts on Saturday and Sunday. If you are unable to pick up, you may do so at your volunteer check in. Another “Friend” can also pick up your Family Bag if convenient! It takes a village…or an amazing community which we gratefully have! ⛺️🫶

With our annual F&F Campout only one week from today, Friends of West U Parks would like to thank our sponsors, including Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital as the returning Camp Founder Sponsor of our 18th Annual West U Fathers & Flashlights Campout! The Campout will be on Saturday, November 2nd and Sunday, November 3rd. All proceeds go to Friends of West University Parks Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the development and improvement of West U’s parks and greenspaces. The event is made possible by the generosity of Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital as well as our other wonderful underwriters and sponsors! The West University Place Parks and Recreation Department is excited to welcome back the Full Moon Fest celebration to Colonial Park on Friday, October 25, at 5:30 p.m. 🌕

Activities will include open-air bounce houses, face paintings, activity booths, and a real pumpkin patch where you can pick a pumpkin to take home! 🎃

In addition, there will be a costume contest so make sure the whole family comes in their spookiest attire. Registration for the costume contest is complimentary and will be judged by the following age categories; 0-3, 4-6, 7-10, and 11-14. Space is limited and only permitted for residents only. Pre-registration is required. Registration closes Friday, October 25, and will not be accepted onsite. As the evening winds down, the festivities will conclude with a showing of the featured film Kung Fu Panda 4 (PG) at 7:00 p.m. 🐼

National Night Out is back! The West University Place Fire Department and West University Place Police Department have a fun evening planned you won't want to miss. 🚒🚔

Fathers and Flashlights 2024 Returning Camper and eligible Underwriter Registration will begin tomorrow, September 10th at 8 am! Open Registration will begin Thursday, September 12th at noon for any remaining spots available! We’re looking forward to another year creating forever memories with our “Friends”!
