Granite Nutrition Services is dedicated to providing quality, nutritious meals to your students, helping them meet their educational goals.

Granite School District Nutrition Service Department is responsible for preparing and serving approximately 40,000 school breakfast and lunch meals per day, throughout the District. In addition we provide meals to Youth in Custody, Head Start, Young Parents, ESL, Even Start, After School Snacks, Title One, and other District programs. We also provide a full range of catering services from special school functions to luncheons and dinners for our students, adults, and guests. Our variety of menu selections is designed to ensure we meet the nutritional needs of our students as established by new USDA guidelines. Our dietitian can assist you with information on how we can work together to meet your child's special dietary needs. We also assist parents in completing an application for school meal benefits.

📣✨National School Lunch Week happens every October and is time to recognize and celebrate our school lunch program! Our schools will be celebrating this upcoming week alongside all the festivities! This year's theme "Cafeteria Circus" is SO fitting because we all know how much our cafeterias put on a daily spectacular show and offering for students! 🎪🎡🍿💫

Be on the lookout for special decorations at your school! We will also be serving up our celebration lunch on Wednesday at all schools. Try our Walking Chili Fritos/Doritos (aka frito pie 🌽) for one day only!

Our Nutrition Team at Matheson Junior High School is known to host friendly staff competitions throughout the year! Yesterday, students voted for their favorite decorated pumpkin during breakfast and lunch periods, and today the winners were announced! 🍿👻🎃 Did your favorite win?

We had a new special today- our BBQ turkey sandwich! 🍗 A soft, whole wheat bun filled with smoked pulled turkey that has been mixed with our scratch-made BBQ sauce. Served with a side of fries! Of course, no meal is complete without a visit to the salad bar!🥗

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders ate it up Granger Elementary School!

Whooo wants lunch? 🦉We do!!✋ Last Tuesday our elementary schools offered crispy chicken and cheese taquitos for lunch! Shout to our staff at Cottonwood Elementary for their spectacular salad bar and cute seasonal board decorations!

Our first celebration meal is one and done! We stopped by William Penn Elementary School today to see how the students liked the option of the bacon avocado cheeseburger. 🍔

Most students enjoyed the bacon 🥓(no surprise there) and many were even brave enough to try avocado! 🥑

📣❗Attention: we have a last minute menu change! Due to a late delivery from our suppliers, our Celebration Meal has been moved to Thursday for all schools! Plan to try out our avocado bacon cheeseburger this Thursday. It's a one-time menu you don't want to miss! 🎉🎈🍔

Tomorrow, lunch at our elementary schools has been switched to pizza rippers. At our junior high and high schools, tomorrow's lunch special will vary.

Fish stick feature🎣! Did you know it has been years since we had fish on the menu? Last Friday, junior high and high school students had the option of our ✨NEW✨ fish stick plate!🐟🍽

We completed a taste test of these whole grain fish sticks at Taylorsville High School with an overwhelmingly positive response. Shout out to our staff there for such a colorful meal with all the fixings!

Today, elementary schools had our fish stick plate for lunch! So many students Monroe Elementary School tried fish sticks for the first time and gave it up a thumbs up! For others, it was a familiar favorite they knew they would like before even tasting. Did you or students you know try it?

Yesterday students at junior high and high schools tried our new chicken and cheese taquitos! Many chose to dip in our scratch-made salsa while some topped it with all the dressings and sour cream. We received great feedback at Cyprus High School and many reported they plan to eat this again!

It's breakfast for lunch 🍳🥞! We're serving up a new whole grain waffle this year! Last Wednesday elementary students enjoyed these new waffles with chicken while Monday they had the option of breakfast platter featuring our new waffles with egg and sausage patties.

On Monday, we served a new entree item at our secondary schools that did not turn out as anticipated. We received feedback from multiple parties about this. This menu item was something we were excited about and we are disheartened that not only did it turn our poorly and different from our prior tests but that students were served a subpar product.

We know that this is not acceptable and we are working to ensure this does not happen again in the future.

We remain dedicated to improving our program and processes and will use this an opportunity to learn and grow. As always, we appreciate your feedback as we continue to try out new things!
