Happy Pride Month!

At CSA we serve and celebrate individuals from all backgrounds.

According to the Trevor Project 50% of LGBTQ+ young people who wanted mental health care in the past year were not able to get it.

We help fill that gap.

Help support mental health in our community!

We're still looking for to fill some sponsorship slots for our Open Books mental health awareness campaign.

Our series is covering a variety of topics from youth mental health, art & mental health, mental health and the justice system and navigating & finding support. We're anticipating 50-60 attendees across these sessions and a robust digital campaign following each event (email and social following upwards of 1,000).

Our sponsorships range from $250-$10,000 and will help support the establishment of a community mental health garden.

If you or someone you know is interested in sponsoring this event please review our sponsorship packet at:https://teamcsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/OB-Sponsorship-Packet.pdf or reach out to our development director at [email protected].

Peer support is open to adults and families who meet the required mental health diagnosis and full medicaid requirements.

One of the best things about this program is its flexibility. Members can opt to meet at a frequency that meets their needs.

We serve all of central Iowa with this program and are excited to be sharing more about what this program looks like in practice at our upcoming open books series: How Support Actually Works.

Meet Christina Smith!

Christina has served as President & CEO of Community Support Advocates for over 15 years and has been with the organization for over 25. She's been a fierce advocate, program builder, and supporter of mental health and disability services across the region for many years.

What you may not know is how personal this work is to Christina. In our upcoming open books mental health awareness session, How Support Actually Works, Christina shares her story from her viewpoint as a mother supporting a child with mental health struggles.

Throughout this session she'll share more about her experience, lessons learned, the ways in which she leaned on support systems, with the resounding message that you don't have to do it alone.

We hope you'll join us for the evening of empowerment.
