Congratulations to DCFD firefighter Melissa Lutz on her retirement as a Chief Master Sergeant after 28 years with the Rhode Island Air National Guard. Deputy Chief Thomas was proud to attend her retirement ceremony and help celebrate a career that included service with the 143d Medical Group and, most recently, as Senior Enlisted Leader for the 143d Mission Support Group.

On behalf of all DCFD members, we wish Melissa the best in her retirement and thank her for her service to our state and our country.

🇺🇸 WE REMEMBER.

25 years ago, on September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 lives were taken in a tragedy that changed America forever.

Today, their names remain engraved at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City — a permanent reminder that behind every number was a person, a family, a story, and a life that mattered.

We remember those who never came home.

We honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage when it mattered most.

And we remember how, in the darkest hours, a nation came together.

25 years later, they are still in our hearts. 🇺🇸

September 11, 2001 — always remembered.

Yesterday evening, 45 current and former members of DCFD gathered at Station 1 for our annual Honored Members Night dinner. It was a great night to catch up, share a few laughs, and show our appreciation to everyone who helped shape the department into what it is today.

Congratulations to Captain Mike Deniger from Hope Valley Fire Department for winning this years helmet raffle to benefit the Karl Kenyon Scholarship fund. This fund is used to award scholarships for college to local high school seniors perusing careers in the fire and EMS fields. Fund raisers like the helmet raffle and the various dinners help fund the scholarship and keep the award going.
Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and stay tuned as we are likely to try to do this raffle again.

History made at the station today!

For the first time in Dunns Corners Fire Department history, we had an all-female duty shift crew running the day shift together.

We’re always looking for dedicated members to join our team and serve the community. If you’re interested in volunteering at Dunns Corners Fire Department, message our page today!
