Did you know Westlake Kiwanis sponsors a team in the Westlake Baseball League? Our team record is 8 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie! Come cheer them on. It's a lot of fun to watch and the players, parents and coaches all appreciate our involvement. Here are 2 pictures from our last game on June 3rd.

The Westlake Kiwanis Club was honored to host our 2026 Memorial Day Ceremony as we joined our community in remembering and honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

The ceremony began with an invocation and concluded with a benediction by Kiwanis Secretary Norm Resko. President Nan Baker welcomed guests, and Mayor Dennis Clough reflected on our nation's 250th Anniversary celebration. We were privileged to hear from guest speaker Sara Markle, Master Sergeant (Ret.), 3rd Marine Corps Battalion, 25th Regiment, whose remarks reminded us of the true meaning of Memorial Day.

The program also included the raising of the flag and recognition of Westlake's fallen heroes, participation by the Western Reserve Sons of the American Revolution, a moving gun salute by Bay Village American Legion Post 385, and the stirring performance of Taps and Echo by talented Westlake High School band students.

Thank you to everyone who participated, attended, and helped make this meaningful day of remembrance possible. We will never forget those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Westlake Kiwanis is getting excited for Westlake's Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Join us for a cherished tradition as the community honors our nation's heroes with spirit, pride and purpose.

Parade starts near St. Peter & George Coptic Orthodox Church on Hilliard Boulevard and ends at Clague Park. Immediately after the parade at the gazebo where a ceremony will be held featuring a traditional wreath-laying, a ceremonial rifle salute, and a collective moment of silence to honor our fallen service members.

The Westlake Recreation Center's Annual Fishing Derby is this Saturday, May 16 at the Westlake Recreation Center pond at 9:00am to noon led by Kevin Walker.

The city of Westlake Flower Box Planting on Hilliard Blvd. will also be this Saturday, May 16 at 9:00am. Thank you to Jennifer Weinberg, her daughter and Mark & Debra Stewart for their help planting our Westlake Kiwanis Flower Box. Jennifer Rutkowski will be planting the Aktion Club Flower box along with the help of Bob Clancy.
