Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS of Maryland The Department of Fire & EMS is a developing organization providing administrative oversight and staffing to the 14 Volunteer Fire/EMS stations of the county.

The purpose of this site is to present matters of public interest to Carroll County, including its many residents, businesses, and visitors. We encourage you to submit your thoughts, questions, and/or concerns as comments on our social media sites, but please note this is a moderated online discussion site and not a public forum. Users are encouraged to keep comments on-topic with the post. Once posted, Carroll County Government reserves the right to delete user submissions that contain:

A SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE

October 8th marked an important day in the continued growth and development of the Carroll County Department of Fire & EMS. We recognized our newly promoted and advanced members and officially implemented 24-hour Safety Officer coverage.

Following the completion of our promotional and advancement processes, please join us in congratulating:

October 8th also marked the start of 24-hour Safety Officer coverage. Operating as Safety 101 out of the Gamber Volunteer Fire Company station, this new resource represents a significant investment in firefighter safety, risk management and operational effectiveness.

These milestones are another important step in building a stronger, safer and more capable Department of Fire & EMS for the citizens of Carroll County.

TOMORROW, IT ALL BEGINS!

We are excited to welcome 17 Firefighter/EMTs as they begin their Modified Recruit Training Program with the Carroll County Department of Fire & EMS!

While these professionals are already credentialed and bring valuable experience and certifications with them, their journey with Carroll County Department of Fire & EMS includes additional & refresher national professional certifications and department-specific training designed to prepare them to serve our community at the highest level.

Over the coming weeks, they’ll build on the skills they already possess, learn the Carroll County way, and become familiar with our operations, expectations, equipment, procedures, and culture.
