Hello Betty Adams!

On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, we have our fall teacher conferences. We are asking for your assistance to contribute items for dinner to be supplied for our staff during these two evenings. Below are the sign-up links and if you are unable to shop, there is a link for a donation page in which the PTA will do the shopping for you!

We are thankful for your continued partnership to show appreciation to the staff that helps our students every day!

We are also hosting our annual book fair this week! Here are times it will be open to shop:
- Monday: 2:40-3:10pm
- Tuesday: 7:35am-3:10pm
- Wednesday: 7:35am-7:00pm
- Thursday: 7:35am-7:00pm
- Friday: 7:35-11:00am

The School Accountability Committee (SAC) Meeting is Wednesday at 5:30pm, followed by an open house style PTA meet & greet at 6:00pm. Both are open for all to attend.

Weather looks to be beautiful for our annual Field Day on Friday! The schedule for the day is:

8:00-10:30am - 3rd, 4th & Ms. Wilson's 5th grade class

12:15-2:05pm - Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd & Ms. Mo's 5th grade class

Our students will be spending a larger portion of their day outside. In PE, we have been talking about what we need to bring to help the day be successful. Things we have talked about are below, so please help your student bring the following items for field day:

-Water bottle full of water
-Sunscreen (preferably SPF 30 or higher)
-Wear their new tie dye shirt
-Athletic shoes (shoes that stay on feet and provide proper support for physical activity). Cleats, crocs, and flip-flops will not be allowed.

We look forward to seeing our students out showing great sportsmanship and having a wonderful day. Of course parents, friends and family are welcome to come and watch their student(s).

Kona Ice will be on-site immediately following.

-Tuesday: Annual Tie Dye Day!
Also - 11am to 11pm is our first restaurant day/night of the year at BJs (11am-11pm). See attached flyer for more information.
-Wednesday: Picture Day!
-Thursday: 7:45-8:15am - Coffee with the Principal
-Friday, September 18th: No school, teacher work day

🦅🇺🇸Best recess ever!! 5th grade was outside when the fighter jets flew over us not once, not twice but 6 times!! We ran across the field chasing them and cheering loudly!! Then we sang the Pledge of Allegiance… best recess EVER!💙💚💙 (the little dot in the sky is one of the fighter jets!!)

On Tuesday, September 15th, we have our annual tie dye day! Always an exciting event, this allows each student to create their own shirt in their class colors to wear on spirit days, for field trips, etc.

We are still in need of several volunteers if you are able to help! Please take a look at the link below and sign-up for any slot(s) you're able to fill - specifically for Kindergarten & First Grades.

Note - preschool will be doing their shirts the following week.

Our Fall Reading Challenge has begun! The top earner and the top reader (can be two different students), will receive lunch with Principal Moth! Each student who registers will receive a prize. Any student who reads 500 minutes (that is less than 20 minutes per day), or more during the month-long challenge, will receive another prize. Registering, reading, and logging minutes is FREE, so your student can earn prizes even if they don't receive any pledges.

Use the link below to register your student(s), log minutes, and collect pledges online from now until the end of the challenge on September 25th. All money raised will go back to the school to fund field trips for students, enrichment programs, teacher and staff requests, and any other various needs throughout the school year.

Back to School Night is today, August 17th from 4:00-5:30.

This is a chance for you and your student to meet the teacher, see their classroom, and get information about this school year.

4:00-4:30: Welcome from the Principal and PTA in the gym

4:30-5:00: Session 1 in Classrooms

5:00-5:30: Session 2 in Classrooms

Session 1 & Session 2 in the classrooms will be the same - you only need to attend one session. Have more than one child? No problem going to each classroom.

After, the PTA is hosting a playground get-together from 5:00-6:00pm with snacks and friendly faces.

Reminder - Kona Ice will be there. 🍧
