☀️🍔 Last week we hosted our annual Shelter Cook Out! HSP staff and volunteers stepped away from their usual roles to serve a special meal to our shelter participants. We loved seeing everyone come together to enjoy good food and laughter!

Thank you to our generous donors who provided the funds for the food, so we were able to make the day extra tasty!

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share a meal, spend time together, and create a little joy and connection for the people we’re honored to serve. 🍔☀️

Our Housing Services team is helping participants transition from shelter into their own apartments, and we’re looking for household essentials to help them get started.

🎉 Please join us in congratulating Mary Moravec on her promotion to Family Support Program Director!

Mary joined HSP in 2025 as our Child Development Specialist, bringing over 15 years of experience in early childhood development to our team. When an opportunity opened for Mary to step into a leadership role, she was ready to take the next step in her career and lead the Family Support Program team.

We’re so excited to see Mary grow in her role and continue making a difference for children and families in our community. 💙

Outside of work, Mary enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband, their two children, and their future daughter-in-law.

We’re so grateful to the Carroll County Diaper Bank for donating diapers to help families in HSP’s Family Support Program!

Diapers are an everyday necessity for families with young children but keeping them stocked is expensive. Your generosity helps ease that burden and ensures parents have one less thing to worry about.

Over 850 diapers were distributed this week to our friends at the Carroll County Family Center through Human Services Programs of Carroll County, Inc. Thank you to everyone who donated 🩵

🎉Please join us in congratulating our Employees of the Month, Krystal S. and Tasha W.

When scheduling conflicts left us without our usual outreach staff for an important community event, Krystal and Tasha stepped up and volunteered to work the event on a weekend.

The event came with some challenges, including weather that forced it indoors and larger than expected attendance. Supplies were gone within an hour, but Krystal and Tasha stayed positive, engaged with attendees, and did a great job sharing information about HSP.

They showed great flexibility, teamwork, and willingness to step up when needed. Thank you, Krystal and Tasha, for being great team players!
