🦑🚒 We Had a SQUID-tastic Time at Trunk or Treat! 🎃🍿

We traded our fire hoses for tentacles and transformed our vehicle into a giant SQUID! 🦑🚗

Our crew had an INK-credible time handing out popcorn, checking out all the amazing costumes, and having some fun with our community!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to SEA us! We hope you had as much fun as we did!

No tricks, just treats, popcorn, and a whole lot of tentacles! 🦑🍿🎃

Sometimes the most important calls aren’t the ones with flashing lights and sirens. ❤️

A Westmont firefighter helping a resident safely across the street is a simple reminder of what being a firefighter is really about — being there for our community, helping when help is needed, and looking out for one another.

It’s more than fire calls. It’s about people.
Westmont Fire Department — here for our community, every day. 🚒❤️

The Westmont Fire Department will once again be participating in the annual Silent Parade event. This year’s parade will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 7 p.m. The parade, which is part of National Fire Prevention Week, is dedicated to firefighters and fire victims who have lost their lives due to fires. The Silent Parade will start in Hinsdale and then travel west on Chicago Avenue through Westmont. The route then continues on Naperville Road and eventually ends in Lisle. The public is invited to attend and stand along the parade route holding a flashlight in honor of those who lost their lives.

🚒🔥 **Busy morning for the WFD crews!** 🔥🚒

Our firefighters had a great morning out in the community with **High Five a Firefighter** and a special **book reading**! 📚👋

There’s nothing better than getting out of the firehouse, meeting our youngest community members, sharing some laughs, and showing them that their firefighters are always here for them. ❤️

From **high fives to story time**, our crews loved every minute of it!

**WFD crews don’t just respond to emergencies — we’re proud to be part of the community we serve every day!** 🚒❤️

Westmont firefighters were putting in the work with live fire training—getting hands-on experience in the heat, smoke, and conditions they may face on the job.

Live fire training allows our crews to sharpen their skills, practice communication and teamwork, and build confidence in a controlled environment. Every evolution is another opportunity to learn, improve, and be better prepared when the call comes in.

You never know what’s waiting behind the door. We train for it.

The Westmont Fire Department visited some very energetic preschool students for a fun morning of learning, exploring, and meeting the firefighters behind the gear. The kids got to check out the fire truck, ask questions, and learn that firefighters are people they can trust when they need help.

From big trucks to big smiles, these visits are about more than fire safety—they help build confidence and familiarity at an early age.
