Coastal Flood Advisories are in effect across areas along the coastline, Chesapeake Bay, and upper rivers due to widespread minor coastal flooding expected over the next couple of days. Locally moderate flooding is possible across some of these areas. A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect across the southern shore of the tidal Potomac and the bay side of the Maryland Eastern Shore where moderate coastal flooding expected. Refer to water.noaa.gov for the latest tidal forecasts.

Please join us in congratulating Deputy First Class Theresa Adams. DFC. Adams was chosen as Deputy of the Year for community service by the Maryland Sheriff's Association at their annual conference and training seminar earlier this week. DFC. Adams is assigned to the School Resource Division and goes above and beyond to make sure she has a positive impact on the youth within Somerset County.

K9 Drago of the Somerset County (MD) Sheriff's Office recently assisted the Princess Anne Police Department on a traffic stop. During the scan, the handler observed a positive alert from K9 Drago for the presence of narcotics. During the search of the vehicle, multiple contraband items were found. Delmarva K9 LLC, give our boy some extra treats next time in training. Good job K9 Drago 🐾, and strong work Princess Anne Police Department on the traffic stop.

⚠️ Thunderstorms developing later today will be capable of producing heavy downpours, with rain rates of 2-4" per hour expected. This could cause scattered instances of flash flooding, particularly in urban and poor drainage areas.
Additional showers and storms are expected through Saturday. Rainfall totals of 1-2" are forecast area-wide, with locally heavier amounts possible where storms recur.
