When Kindergarten is finished with book checkout, they have "exploration time" in the library! They can; read, color, do puzzles, look at the rocks/minerals/fossils or relax in the new Quiet Corner!📖🖍🧩🔎☺

Who says it isn’t fun to review rules at the beginning of the school year!? In the library, we do it by board game!

BACK TO SCHOOL!!!
This year, our library theme is: Exploration, Adventure, Treasure Hunting (books are treasures after all!) and Puzzle Solving. We will use all of these to unravel the mysteries of the library and the world around us!
Looking forward to a fun and exciting year!

Fifth graders this year during library became published authors! Each student was able to create a book around the theme “when I grow up“! Today they received their printed books! Big thanks to the PTO for purchasing one copy for every student! Have a great summer!

This week, our school will meet to discuss our core value of RESPONSIBILITY.
In library, we felt that our lessons about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. paired perfectly with discussions about responsibility. We discussed what our responsibilities are to ourselves, each other and our Martha Jones Community. We discussed the power of choosing our actions and reactions and that our responsibility to our community can start with simple acts of kindness. Students will be bringing home ideas of things they can do on Monday's Day of Service in honor of MLK.
We also listened to this song to inspire us to change the world with "Our Own Two Hands".
