Go NERDS!!!

The Elmore County Public Schools NERDS STEM Competition Team had an incredible showing at the Montgomery Hub BEST Robotics competition Saturday, sweeping the competition and bringing home the top overall award.

The 26-student team, with students from all of Elmore County’s high schools, earned first place in nine categories, including Sportsmanship, Marketing Presentation, Poster Display & Interview, Top Gun & Spotter, Digital Marketing, Notebook, Most Photogenic Robot, Robotics and the overall BEST Award.

The NERDS also received special recognition from the CEO of BEST National for helping other teams throughout the competition and earning a reputation as “the nice team.”

Their season continues Dec. 4-5 at the Southeast Regional BEST Robotics competition at Alabama A&M in Huntsville.

Congratulations to the NERDS on an outstanding weekend!
