Message from City Clerk Melanie Vermillion:

I have taken a full-time position at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clincs in North Liberty. I will continue to be our City Clerk on a part time basis. Beginning in October, City Hall hours will be Thursday and Friday 8:30-5…. Water Bill payments can be made by mail, using the drop box or making online payments. Many of you have signed up for the online option, but for those who have not and want to start doing this, you will just need to have your account number to do so. Your account number is on your water bill. I will share the link to get registered in the comments of this post.

If you need to reach City Hall during non-business hours you can email the city at [email protected], I will be checking this often during my off hours with the city. You can also leave a message on the city’s answering machine 641-634-2590; our Mayor and City Guys will be checking this daily throughout the week. Or as many of you do, you can message me on the city’s Facebook account or my personal page.

After 23 years of working with the city I am confident that I can take care of city business on a part time basis, though some of you may think this is an inconvenience, in fact this is very beneficial to the City as they will be saving money on payroll. I have thought this over for awhile and this move is best for me at this time in my life. So I hope you all can be understanding. If this does not work, I will be the first to say that it is my time to step away and the city can hire a new clerk that I would be willing to train.

Thank you for your understanding, Melanie Vermillion 😊
