It’s back to school time for Whately students:
First day is Wednesday August 26, 2026. It should go without saying but please be careful, go slow in the school zone, and DO NOT PASS school busses displaying stop signs and flashing lights. Violations will be strictly enforced.
Welcome back students and staff and have an amazing school year.

Welcome Tim.

This afternoon we gathered at our station to recognize Tim Drumgool’s appointment as the new South County EMS Chief.

Tim grew up in Deerfield and is a Frontier graduate. Tim continued his education at Springfield College where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Medical Services Management. Prior to the inception of South County EMS, Tim worked for Deerfield EMS and was a significant contributor to the growth and development of our regional service. Tim is not solely an experienced paramedic, he also collaborates with partner organizations for emergency planning, community outreach and facilitates professional development.

We are excited to welcome Tim back to South County EMS as our next leader. Together, we look forward to continuing to provide professional services to our community under his leadership.

NEW FI****MS LICENSING REGS:

New regulations went into effect today regarding fi****ms licensing in Massachusetts. I received a number of questions throughout the day and there is understandably some confusion. To avoid adding to the confusion, I would rather address specific concerns directly. If you are a Whately resident and have questions about an upcoming fi****ms license renewal, or if you need information about how to apply for a fi****ms permit, please feel free to email me at [email protected] or call/stop by the police station.
