We don’t know if you’re ready for this one. 🥹

Yesterday, we introduced you to two phenomenal Wheeling Park High School artists, Prophet and Kenzo.

Their skill set is amazing and the opportunities and instruction available for artists in Ohio County Schools is truly something special.

Shortly after posting their photo, we received a message from Steenrod Elementary School teacher, Ms. Iverson. She sent us a photo of Prophet’s artwork from first grade.

So what’s going on in your local public school?

🍎Staff invests.

🍎 Students grow.

🍎 We celebrate.

This is a true testament to the power of a teacher and the memories they hold in their hearts, even all these years later. 🥹

Everyday heroes in Ohio County Schools!

Thank you Mr. Tankovits and students!

It's National School Bus Safety Week!

There are so many ways to remain safe when riding a school bus or driving in the vicinity of a school bus. As technology changes, it's important that we continue to update our community on some key safety tips.

A safety tip for today? Be aware of your surroundings and monitor your own materials. This morning, a backpack with a charging port malfunctioned causing both a cell phone and backpack to spark. The students’ rapid response in bringing it to the driver’s attention led to an immediate pullover and evacuation. We heard kids say, “Get the driver, exit the bus. Leave your things.” This resulted in quick action from driver John Tankovits who evacuated the bus and ensured all students were safe. Training makes the biggest difference!

Students, keep an eye on your devices and weigh your options. The best solution? Charge at home from a wall charger and be ready for the day.

Thank you, Mr. Tankovits, for swift action!
