Dolly Parton. Icon. Legend. So many things to so many people, but to those in the book world it is her incredible Imagination Library project that truly lifts her head and shoulders above the rest.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland.

Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write Dolly started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans five countries and gifts millions of free books each month to children around the world.

No matter how hard James Pedersen and his anonymous accounts try to turn our Little Free Library into something it isn't, we remain proud of what it actually is: a neighborhood book exchange built on curiosity, community, and the freedom to read.

For years, neighbors have donated and borrowed books of all kinds: fiction, history, mysteries, children's books, classics, bestsellers, and yes, books that some people may not personally agree with. That's kind of the point.

We don't require ideological purity tests. We don't screen books for political correctness. We don't call law enforcement because someone might read a novel we wouldn't choose ourselves.

What we do believe in is the First Amendment, intellectual freedom, and the idea that parents - not anonymous social media activists - are responsible for deciding what is appropriate for their own children.

The repeated attempts to portray a small neighborhood library as some sort of criminal enterprise would be laughable if they weren't so absurd. The books in our library are the same books found in bookstores, public libraries, school libraries, and homes across America.
If your values are so fragile that the existence of a book on a shelf threatens them, perhaps the problem isn't the book.

We'll keep sharing books. We'll keep supporting the freedom to read. And we won't be bullied by people whose entire hobby seems to be manufacturing outrage.

Thank you to those who alerted us to Jim's posts, it tells us a lot about this community!

📚 Read what you want. 📚 Skip what you don't. 📚 Let your neighbors do the same.

Little Free Library update: the kids books are overflowing again 📚❤️

New arrivals include Baby-Sitters Club, Judy Moody, Magic Tree House, and enough random children’s chaos to keep summer reading alive.

But then things took a turn because we also have:
• the Dune trilogy
• Howard Stern Comes Again
• a pile of marketing/branding/business books
• and assorted “finding yourself” energy

So apparently the library now supports: ages 7–107, emotional growth, intergalactic politics, and personal branding. 😂

As I clear out bins, more books are headed out there. Honestly my favorite part is watching this little box become absolute literary roulette.

**JUST ADDED: Conspiracy Mystery Game**

Attention all mystery game enthusiasts... A hidden message in The Valley Falls Observer leads to the conclusion that all is not what it seems. Is the message simply the result of a typo, a practical joke, or mere coincidence? Or is there a deeper conspiracy working behind the scenes of Valley Falls?

**Difficulty Rating:** 7.5/10

[As a seasoned member of the Deadbolt Mystery Society with a collection of their games under my belt, I've decided it's time to pass on the fun. Inside the box, you'll find everything you need to get started. Please remember to return all pieces to their original envelopes and secure them with tape after you're done. This way, the mystery remains intact for the next sleuth. Enjoy the adventure!]
