Some of our volunteers assisted with parking at the Whispers of the Cape Fear Event at Harmony Hall Village - White Oak last night. It was such a neat event and If you missed out hopefully they will do it again next year. The pictures don’t do it justice on how awesome it was!

Our very own Captain Michael “Bones” Lewis was awarded the 2026 Firefighter of the Year by the Eastern Carolina Firefighters Association meeting tonight in Harrells, NC. Captain Bones is an integral part of our department and community and very deserving of this award. His service extends beyond White Oak as he also serves with Elizabethtown Fire Department and The Ammon Vol Fire Department. Bones is a valuable asset to Bladen County and we are very proud of him and this accomplishment.

We are pleased to announce that today we accepted the delivery of a New-to-Us Fire Engine from Tar Heel Fire/Rescue Inc. We are so thankful to the members and Board of Directors of Tar Heel Fire and Rescue for their generous donation of the truck for the low cost of $1, and we look forward to putting the truck into service for many years to come. Pictured left to right are Chief Hunsinger of Tar Heel and Chief Tatum of White Oak accepting the new addition to our fleet.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our Deputy Chief David Price has gained ultimate healing following a long hard fought battle with illness.
