WPFD is on scene of an Injury Crash on Interstate 81 Southbound near the 7 mile marker. Both southbound lanes are closed currently. Expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

Commercial Vehicle Fire Response

Friday night White Pine Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire involving a tractor trailer located at Exit 4. Units responded and was informed the rear of the trailer was on fire and the trailer was hauling flammable liquids. Additional resources were called due to the nature of the fire. WPFD personnel arrived on scene and was able to control and extinguish the fire within about 20 minutes of arrival. As a result of the fire Roy Messer Hwy was temporarily closed due to the use of fire hydrant across the street. No injuries were reported.

WPFD responded with 2 Engine Companies, a Tanker and 11 personnel.

WPFD is clearing from a Motor Vehicle Crash on Interstate 81 Northbound at the 6 mile marker. Use caution in the area and expect delays as both lanes were closed. 9:15PM.

Auto Aid Structure Fire

Yesterday evening WPFD was dispatched as part of an auto aid response with Dandridge Fire to a Residential Structure Fire just a few miles from our fire district. Crews responded and arrived to find a working fire. Additional resources were called to the scene due to a limited water supply in the area. Crews assisted in fire attack, water supply, and scene operations. The fire was called under control and remaining hot spots knocked down within 40 minutes after arrival.

WPFD responded with an Engine Company, a Tanker, Chief Officer and 9 personnel.

6:30 PM

WPFD has responded to multiple Motor Vehicle Crashes this afternoon on Interstate 81. This has caused heavy traffic congestion within town and other parts of the White Pine Community. Please use caution while traveling especially the interstate. Alternative routes are suggested until traffic and the crashes clear up.

WPFD is providing Mutual Aid to Cocke County Fire Department on a large industrial fire. WPFD has responded with a Tanker, Chief Officer and 3 Personnel.
