Perhaps it's my attempt to cope. | United Against Fentanyl 08/12/2024

Three mothers just today. All lost their children to fentanyl poisoning.

I then needed to write it down.

I guess to cope.

"We Long for the Days of He**in." 05/09/2024

I've been asked dozens of times—maybe hundreds.

"Why fentanyl, Paul?"

Then I share this story.

This is my testament, the reason for United Against Fentanyl

I believe everyone needs to learn about this and share it with those they love.

Thank you.

"We Long for the Days of He**in." Someone really said that to me.

I refer to them as "Monuments of Suffering" because they've inspired me to act.

Like them, I understand what it means to love your child—a depth of love that words can't touch.

Much of my life these days is with these monuments, parents who lost their children to fentanyl—many were teens who bought a pill on Snapchat.

One thought it was a Percocet, another an Oxycontin, another a Xanax.

One thought he was just va**ng.

None knew fentanyl had been added.

I shudder to think of one of my children being poisoned and dying like this.

We will be unveiling our national campaign, , as part of United Against Fentanyl.

If you are a parent, talk to your child.

The United Against Fentanyl site is now live!

We now begin the arduous work of national education, advocacy, and ultimately fighting against a scourge that kills more Americans in one year than the Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan wars combined. Think of that.

Today, I am off to Washington, DC, to share UAF with the great leaders of the SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration) and other stakeholders.

We welcome your support.

Paul

The Cause is not "Lost." 02/27/2024

As a humanitarian, a humanist, and a Jesus follower who takes seriously caring for "the least," I now know why systemic social problems continue. Why poverty persists. Why hate crimes persist. Why generational trauma continues.

Why the fentanyl scourge exists.

When that part of our mental composition is screaming "enough" because we're at our "limit" — and when our vision seems "insane" because another voice is whispering "it's a lost cause" — you fight back.

Tell the voice to go to hell.

You're not at your limit.

The cause is not lost.

It's only hard.

As I prepare for the launch of United Against Fentanyl next week, I know it won’t be easy.

Bring it on.

The Cause is not "Lost." It's only hard.

Who do I Think I am? 02/23/2024

"Another parent stunned and shocked and wondering, how? Their children were not addicts but youth doing what youth do—experimenting. Earlier in the week I met a father who lost is 22-year-old to a v**e pen."

"As we inch toward the launch of United Against Fentanyl on March 1, the slithery voice increasingly shows up.

"Who do you think you are to fight the leading cause of deaths for 18–45-year-olds in our nation?

"There is no pause. My answer to the question is, 'Me.'"

Who do I Think I am? Me? Stop the fentanyl scourge?
