The Westchester County Health Department’s Division of Environmental Health is actively working with the Town of Greenburgh and its water operators to monitor a significant water-main break, including ensuring appropriate water quality testing once service is restored, and supporting repair efforts.
UPDATE as of 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 25
“The boil water advisory issued by the Westchester County Department of Health for parts of the Town of Greenburgh remains in effect at least through Monday, October 26, 2026, and will not be lifted until further water quality testing confirms the supply is safe.
Current Status & Safety Guidelines
Duration: The advisory was triggered by a major 16-inch water valve break near Central Park Avenue and Ardsley Road. While repairs by Greenburgh Consolidated Water District #1 have progressed, standard protocol requires water samples to be tested over a minimum period before the county lifts the order
I have not received any further updates from the county health department and will reach out to residents as soon as they get back to me. A volunteer, Brendan Fitzpatrick, sent me an e mail indicating that alot of people are complaining trying to figure out if the water advisory impacted them. The volunteer has software to make maps quickly. If you would like me to send you the map that he came up with to help you better understand the county advisory please e mail me at [email protected].”
