Today, students and staff at White Swan High School wore orange and walked together in honor of Orange Shirt Day and the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

Teacher Nancy Donato opened the walk by sharing her own family's experiences with residential boarding schools. Her words grounded all of us in why this day matters, both for the history it honors and for the impact that history continues to have on our families and communities today. Thank you, Nancy, for your courage and generosity in sharing your family's story with our students.

Orange Shirt Day reminds us that Every Child Matters, and that remembering is part of healing.

A huge thank you to Brettagne Aleck for organizing this walk and bringing our school community together for such a meaningful day.

Today, students and staff at Harrah Schools wore orange and walked together in honor of Orange Shirt Day and the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

Teachers and students from every grade level, kindergarten through 8th grade, took part. It was powerful to see our whole school community come together to remember the children who were taken to boarding schools, honor the survivors, and recognize the families and communities who still carry that loss today.

Orange Shirt Day reminds us that Every Child Matters. That message is at the heart of what we do in our schools every day.

A huge thank you to Shelly Renee Craig for all her hard work organizing this walk. Events like this don't happen without someone who cares enough to make them happen, and we're grateful for her.
