Please note the trail closure in the Beaver Lakes area.

**Trail Closure Notice: Beaver Lakes Area**
Notice to Beaver Lakes area trail users: A section of the Whitefish Trail between Rainbow Lake and the Woods Lake Loop is currently closed. A deer carcass was spotted Saturday in close proximity to the Whitefish Trail (see map). Following consultation with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP), this section of trail has been closed as a precaution. While no predators have been spotted, evidence of feeding has been observed in the area. Out of an abundance of caution, the closure will remain in effect through this weekend, and the Whitefish Trail Blazer half marathon course will be rerouted around the closure.

Help bring a Wind Phone to Whitefish -
The City of Whitefish Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with a local family and community supporters, is working to bring a Wind Phone to Whitefish—a peaceful place where individuals experiencing grief can find a moment of reflection, remembrance, and connection. Inspired by a family’s personal journey through the devastating loss of a loved one, this project seeks to create a meaningful space where people can symbolically “call” those they have lost and share words left unsaid.

Location: Along the shared use path on E 2nd St and Cow Creek.
