This week highlighted the strength and camaraderie of 10th Battalion. We proudly celebrated SGM Green’s birthday, recognizing his outstanding leadership, mentorship, and continued dedication to our Soldiers. 🇺🇸

The battalion also focused on readiness and resilience during our 10th BN Yoga session, reinforcing the importance of physical and mental wellness across the formation. 🧘‍♂️💪

We wrapped up the celebrations with our 10th BN Pre-Christmas Party, bringing together Soldiers, leaders, and families to enjoy the holiday spirit. The festivities continued with our White Elephant exchange, adding a little fun and laughter to an already great season. 🎄🎁

Congratulations to SFC Adam Claybaugh on being awarded Soldier of the Month. Job well done! Your hardwork and dedication to your job and your team is greatly appreciated. 🎊

We had the honor of celebrating two incredible Soldiers and leaders.

We bid farewell to MSG Beltran, whose dedication, mentorship, and service have left a lasting impact on our team. Your leadership will be missed, but your legacy continues with all those you’ve guided along the way.

We also proudly recognized SFC Odgers as he was presented with his Retirement Award. After years of selfless service, sacrifice, and commitment to the mission, this milestone marks the beginning of a well‑deserved new chapter.

💰 Pay & Financial Impacts: Failed votes and no signs of progress towards re-opening the government continues to cause stress across the military community. It is not just military paychecks that are in jeopardy. Many federal employees are now receiving their first zero-dollar paychecks of the shutdown. That includes our civilian teammates, DoDEA teachers, and the federal workers who keep our military communities running. In some cases, these professionals are working without pay. Families are tightening budgets and searching for trusted resources to bridge the gap. There are relief organizations specifically designed for federal employees, check with your networks, your bargaining union or websites like fedsupport.org

🧾 Resources & Financial Assistance: Relief programs remain active and available to help.
• Army Emergency Relief (AER): Now accepting shutdown loan applications to provide interest-free assistance to Soldiers and families affected by delayed pay.
• American Red Cross: Offering emergency financial support and coordination with military aid societies.
• American Legion: Temporary Financial Assistance through the Veterans and Children Foundation.
• Operation Homefront: Short-term critical financial aid for active-duty and veteran families.
• VFW Unmet Needs Program: Grants to help with housing, utilities, and food for military families.
• USA Cares: Emergency grants for rent, utilities, and essential needs.
• Stronghold Food Pantry and Armed Services YMCA: Providing groceries and essentials to military families.
• Military OneSource: Open 24/7 for confidential counseling, MilTax services, and financial coaching.

💊 Pharmacies & Healthcare: We continue to hear from families struggling to access prescriptions and care on installations. Many military pharmacies have reduced hours or are limiting medication availability. Some medications are unavailable completely. If your prescriptions are filled on base, now may be the time to transfer them to a TRICARE network pharmacy to avoid interruptions. TRICARE coverage remains active, but families may still experience longer claim processing times and delays in payments to civilian providers.

🏛️ Legislative Update: The Senate voted today on a bill to pay members of the Armed Forces on active duty and essential federal workers, and it failed to pass. Those who opposed it cited the fact that it did not include payment for all federal workers, including those who are currently furloughed. There are other versions of bills out there to pay our military and federal employees that are not yet scheduled for a vote, so we encourage anyone so inclined to continue reaching out to your elected officials and expressing your opinions and sharing your perspectives. Every voice matters.

Congratulations to SFC Wheating on completing his final Area Training with Area 6 — his leadership has been instrumental in driving their continued success. As he passes the torch, there's no doubt that MSG Cox will continue that momentum and lead the team to even greater achievements.

Also taking a well-deserved bow is MSG Kelly, who just wrapped up his final Area Training as he heads into retirement. His dedication and service have left a lasting impact, and his presence will surely be missed.

Wishing all three of these outstanding leaders the very best in their next chapters. Thank you for your service, your leadership, and your example.

Celebrating LTC (P) Taylor Jones III on His Promotion to Colonel!

We are proud to recognize the promotion of Lieutenant Colonel (Promotable) Taylor Jones III to the rank of Colonel—a significant milestone in a distinguished career of service and leadership.

The promotion ceremony was officiated by Brigadier General Hockett, who honored COL Jones’ exemplary dedication, professionalism, and commitment to mission and Soldiers.

WE can't thank you enough for what you've done for us at the 10th Battalion. This isn't goodbye its a farewell until we see you again!!!
