As we head into tonight, please use extra caution—road conditions continue to deteriorate.

This past Tuesday, we invited Harrison, Pony, Norris, Summit Valley Volunteer Fire Dept over to the elementary school parking lot for a friendly competition during our training night; hose-line soccer. The objective was to move the soccer ball past the opposing team using the water from the lines. Firefighters worked on nozzle control and placement, as well as pump operations - and had a blast while getting soaked! Thank you, Harrison, Pony, Norris, Summit Valley Volunteer Fire Dept for joining us!

Tuesday also marked the first training for our newest Junior Firefighter, FF Korst! Welcome to WVFD, FF Korst!

Thank you to Whitehall School District for the use of their parking lot for the evening!

As we mark the 25th anniversary, we remember all who died, including the 343 firefighters, 71 police officers, and eight paramedics/EMTs who made the ultimate sacrifice.

[Sunday, 8/23/26] The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for central and southwestern Jefferson County including the communities of Boulder, Basin, Elk Park, and Whitehall in effect from 1pm through 8pm today. Please avoid any activity that could spark a fire, as any fires that do start could spread rapidly.

🚫 Jefferson County remains in Stage 1 fire restrictions, meaning campfires and other open burning is prohibited on private land within the county. 🚫
