On a beautiful Saturday morning a group of students and their families joined Mr. and Mrs. Knowles assisting our local native plant expert, Connie Crancer, in harvesting seeds from native plants in our two native plant gardens at Ealy Elementary School. They spent the morning learning how to identify native plants in the gardens and collect seeds that were ready for harvesting. The seeds collected will be germinated at school later in the school year and the seedlings will be planted in the school gardens and throughout the community. Ms. Crancer and Mr. Knowles are planning another seed harvesting day at Ealy Elementary School in about three weeks, please contact Mr. Knowles if you would like to participate in this experience.
