Last week was a tremendous display of commitment from our Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department team.
Over the course of two demanding days, department members conducted oral interview boards and proctored Physical Abilities Testing (PAT) for applicants seeking to join our agency. In an effort to streamline our hiring process and reduce the overall timeline for applicants, we combined these assessments into a single day for each candidate. While this improved the candidate experience, it also meant long hours and hard work for our personnel.
From spending hours on their feet monitoring physical testing to conducting interview after interview, our team remained fully invested in identifying the next generation of WMPD officers. These assessments are among the most important steps in the hiring process. They provide us with valuable face-to-face opportunities to learn about applicants, their motivations for pursuing a career in law enforcement, and their potential fit within our organization. They also ensure candidates are prepared to meet the physical demands of this profession.
While the days were long, they were also exciting. Our officers and staff had the opportunity to meet talented individuals who may one day wear the WMPD badge and serve our community.
A sincere thank you to every department member who dedicated their time, energy, and expertise to making these assessments a success. Your efforts are helping shape the future of our department, and that investment will benefit our community for years to come.
