Northfield Twp lies at the northernmost edge of Washtenaw County: charming downtown, two beautiful lakes, plenty of farms & woodlands, and friendly people!

Northfield Township is located halfway between Ann Arbor and Brighton off of U.S. 23, encompassing 36 square miles and home to the area known as Whitmore Lake. Our township boasts extreme beauty, with rolling countryside, centennial farms, and a rural character that feels miles away but only minutes from the City. Whitmore Lake, one of the premier lakes in Southeast Michigan, with 750 acres of open water accommodates all sports, including fishing, boating, water skiing, etc. While here, come enjoy our many restaurants, read a book at our historic library, shop in one of our many downtown businesses, or enjoy an evening of bowling with the family. Whether it's to enjoy the many natural features we offer, spend a day on one of our lakes, play golf with a beautiful scenic backdrop, or enjoy our downtown shopping; we invite you to come Explore Northfield.

People's Express to offer FREE rides on Election Day!!

People's Express would like to share that the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners, in collaboration with the main transportation providers (PEX, AAATA, & WAVE), is providing free fares on Election Day! This initiative is to help residents remove barriers in accessing the polls across the county on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3).

Residents can call the day of the election to schedule a ride, and People’s Express will have dedicated vehicles throughout the area to help meet demand.

They have also created a website to help Washtenaw County residents identify which transportation provider to call to arrange their Election Day ride. https://washtenaw-election-day-ride-finder.replit.app/
