🐄 From Farm to Table! 🥛

Whitney Point High School’s Intro to Agriculture students took their learning on the road Oct. 22 with a visit to Trinity Valley Farms in Truxton, NY!

Owner-operator Rebekah Brown led students on an informative tour of the milk-processing plant, bottling station, robotic milker, freestall barn and livestock areas. Students explored creamline milk production, cheese-making, cow nutrition, product distribution, pricing, marketing and the strict health standards required to produce and sell dairy products in NYS.

Of course, no farm visit would be complete without a taste test! Students sampled a variety of cheeses and enjoyed chocolate milk, baked goods and ice cream made right at Trinity Valley Farms. They even had time for a quick stop at the farm store’s playground!

A big "thank you" to Rebekah Brown and Trinity Valley Farms for sharing their knowledge and providing our Golden Eagles with such a memorable, hands-on learning experience!

Broome-Tioga Mentoring Day: Building Bridges to Brighter Futures!

This annual event in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month was held on Oct. 22. The event promotes career development for students and job seekers, as well as increasing employer awareness of individuals with disabilities as a viable source of qualified, diverse employees.

Each year's Broome-Tioga event provides an opportunity for Mentors and their Mentees to spend time together at the business site, where Mentees will gain a better understanding of the business and specific jobs in the company.

Students visited Achieve, Visions Veterans Memorial Arena, Weis and Binghamton University’s Facilities Department, where they learned more about different workplaces and career paths through hands-on connections with local employers.

🚀 From Golden Eagle to the Stars!

Landon Jeker, Whitney Point Class of 2018, worked hard to turn his interest in engineering into a career as a propulsion engineer at SpaceX. Now, he’s back where his journey began, sharing his experiences with today's students and inspiring them to dream big.

His message? The sky isn't the limit when you're reaching for the stars! 🌟

Landon's visit, as part of the Careers to Classroom initiative, was also covered by 3 local TV stations. Check out their stories here:

💛 Golden Eagles Take Care of Each Other! 💛

Here's a positive way to end the day... We wanted to give a big "thank you" to the caring members of our Golden Eagle community who recently donated to the WPHS Care Closet! We’re grateful to the PTA, Bill MacNeill, and those who chose to give anonymously for their generosity and support of our students.

Your kindness makes a difference! Thank you for helping us keep the Care Closet stocked and ready to support our Golden Eagles. 🦅

🚒 Fire Safety in Action at CEA! 🔥

October is Fire Prevention Month, and the Whitney Point Fire Dept brought important fire safety lessons to Caryl E. Adams this week!

Students learned when to call 911, what to expect if firefighters enter their home and how firefighting equipment helps keep people safe. They also practiced the important Stop, Drop and Roll technique.

A big THANK YOU to these dedicated Whitney Point FD volunteers for taking the time to teach our youngest Golden Eagles how to stay safe! ❤️
