Today we take time to recognize women of law enforcement. We have a lot of respect for our female officers. They suit up day in and day out. Some of them are single moms. They are dedicated to their careers. They miss Christmas, birthdays, kids athletic events and family functions. Nights, weekends, rain or shine. They figure it out. They never complain. They never hesitate. We are blessed to have them representing our agency and we are proud to serve beside them.

After 37 years of faithful service Deputy Chief Gillmore has decided to retire. He will be greatly missed. He worked very hard to rise up through the ranks over the years and served as Deputy Chief for over 13 years. DC Gilmore was extremely active in the Association and was a member throughout his entire career with the WFPD.

Fun fact about DC Gilmore he is married to Ginger Gillmore who had over 30 years of service before hanging up her gun belt. She was one of most bad ass Lieutenants to put on a uniform.

Both of these awesome folks dedicated most of their adult lives to serving the police department and this city. What an amazing accomplishment for both of them. Enjoy your retirement! You’ve certainly earned it!

The Association congratulates you both. Amazing people. Great leaders!

The smoke was thick tonight at Legacy High School as Association members cooked over 300 hamburgers for students at their pep rally. Legacy prepares to take on Memorial tomorrow night for the last district game of the season. Good luck to both teams!
