🚨JOB OPPORTUNITY!🚨

Hey y'all! 👋🏼 So the Texas Majority PAC (basically the PAC that supports the Texas Democratic Party), is recruiting 40 college students statewide for a paid Student Fellowship pilot program running from early October through Election Day. Student Fellows will help bring the PAC's Rally TX civic engagement program to campuses by recruiting classmates, friends, and other students to attend virtual civic engagement classes in October focused on how public policy affects everyday costs and how Texans can participate in the civic process.

Fellows will spend most of their time doing in-person campus outreach, including clipboarding in high-traffic areas, outreach in dorms and student housing, and recruitment through student organizations and their personal networks.

‼️Pay and Schedule:‼️
-$20/hour
-Up to 8 paid hours per week
-Paid training
-Uncapped $10 bonus for every recruit who completes a class
-Flexible scheduling designed to work around students’ classes

They are REALLY looking for students who are comfortable approaching new people, have strong campus networks, can work independently, and have experience recruiting for student organizations (I bet this last one is just a preference though). This is a pilot program, so fellows will be working in a goal-oriented environment, and continued participation and available hours will depend on performance and program results. Applications are open now and reviewed on a rolling basis. Interviews will take place September 24 through October 1.

Hey y'all! 👋🏼 I'm so sorry we haven't been very active in the past few months! I'll update y'all below but TL;DR We've had a lot of things going on internally! If you have free time, we are looking for more board members and volunteers! I will also be creating another post with a job opportunity, and if you want to have a say on when we should hold our monthly board meetings, please join our Discord (Comment or message for the link)! Long version:
At the beginning of the year, we had a board member leave due to some unfortunate personal events. Then, David and I (this is Stephanie, btw) became incredibly busy trying to run the Primary elections and the subsequent runoff elections as part of our County Chair duties in Archer/Clay county. After that, we started to hit the ground running and campaigning in our capacities as county chairs, and since we already had a vacancy before January, and two of our board members are in HS, we have not had the capacity to hold meetings for a hot minute. 🫣

BUT we decided to restructure the board a bit and move some things around, and David and I basically switched roles. David has also accepted the role as a Regional Deputy Director with our state chapter, and will be working to help charter TYD chapters in the western part of North Texas! With that being said, if you've been wanting to get more involved with the elections this year, PLEASE reach out to me!!! 🥺

We are looking for a few more board members AND volunteers to help with calling folks and knocking on doors/dropping off candidate literature in the rural areas! It's been so much fun, and we have an amazing volunteer who has been coming up to the Wichita Dems HQ on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7:30 just to talk to people on the phone and has been helping with voter registration efforts, if you want to ask her about her experience! We REALLY need all the help we can get, so please message if you're interested in helping in any capacity! 💙
