The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Park City Police Department, Wichita Police Department Mounted and K-9 units, and other local law enforcement partners worked alongside the U.S. Secret Service to support a safe presidential visit at Heartland Credit Union Arena on Monday.

Approximately 70 local law enforcement personnel assisted with the event. Sedgwick County Fire District No. 1 reported that about 6,000 people entered the arena, with several hundred more gathering outside.

Law enforcement made one arrest near the designated free speech area. Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office deputies also escorted 11 uninvited individuals from inside the arena after they caused disruptions.

Thank you to attendees, community members, event staff, and our public-safety partners for your patience, cooperation, and understanding during this large-scale event.

PRESIDENTIAL VISIT: ACCESS UPDATE

Parking near Heartland Credit Union Arena is extremely limited. Attendees are encouraged to use the designated overflow parking area at Gilley’s Park City Gambling Hall, 1500 E. 77th St. North, and take the shuttle service to the arena.

Anyone using a rideshare service, such as Uber or Lyft, should arrange for drop-off and pickup at Gilley’s. Shuttle buses will transport attendees from the overflow parking area to Heartland Credit Union Arena.

Rideshare drivers are asked not to attempt direct access to the arena. Road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue.

Attendees with a Special Guest Parking Pass, or those requiring ADA-accessible parking, should continue to use the attendee entrance at 85th Street North and Arena Drive.

Halloween safety starts with planning ahead.

Before heading out to trick-or-treat, check the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office OffenderWatch map to learn where registered offenders live:
https://www.icrimewatch.net/index.php?AgencyID=54309&disc=

There are more than 1,800 registered s*x offenders, 1,100 violent offenders and 800 drug offenders currently living in Sedgwick County.

Keep Halloween safe:

• Make sure costumes fit well, are flame-resistant and do not block vision.
• Children 12 and under should always be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
• Add reflective tape or carry a flashlight or glow stick to improve visibility.
• Older children should go in groups, follow a planned route and watch for traffic.
• Only approach well-lit homes. Never enter a home without permission.
• Stay in well-lit areas, avoid shortcuts and steer clear of isolated places.
• Do not eat treats until an adult checks them. Eat only factory-wrapped items unless you know the giver.
• Teach children to say no, get away and tell a trusted adult if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
• Consider safe alternatives, including home, school or community Halloween events.

For more information, contact the Offender Registration Unit at 316-660-3939.

Shuttle buses will transport attendees from Gilley’s to Heartland Credit Union Arena.

Rideshare drivers are also asked to use the designated drop-off location at Gilley’s rather than attempting to access the arena directly.

Due to road closures and traffic restrictions surrounding the arena, we encourage rideshare drivers and passengers to plan ahead and allow additional travel time.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping maintain safe and efficient traffic flow during the event.
