On the November 3, 2026, general election ballot, Wichita Public Schools will ask the community to consider $615 million worth of projects. These improvements focus on four main themes: modernizing learning spaces, improving experiences and efficiencies, additional career tech ed spaces and preserving the district’s oldest high schools. 🌟🔎 BUCKNER 4TH GRADERS: LEARNING, EXPLORING & SOLVING MYSTERIES! 🚌💚🖤

Our Buckner Stars had an AMAZING day on their 4th-grade field trip! ⭐📚 Learning came to life as our students explored, investigated, experimented, and discovered new things along the way!

From mystery-solving to space exploration, there was excitement around every corner! 🚀🔬

🔎 Mystery Solvers: We teamed up with Scooby-Doo to solve a mystery! 🐾🕵🏽‍♀️

⛳ Put-Put Fun: We enjoyed a round of put-put golf with Curious George! 🐵

🏰 Medieval Adventures: We discovered fun and excitement inside a medieval castle! ⚔️👑

🧪 Science Detectives: We put our scientific thinking to the test as we solved a mystery in a mansion! 🧐🔬

🌌 Out of This World: We learned about asteroids and explored the wonders of space! ☄️🪐

🌀 Testing Our Senses: We investigated how our senses work by exploring whether a student could tell if they were spinning in a chair without being able to see or hear! 👀👂🏽

🔬 Exploration Place: We wrapped up our adventure with a look at the MANY discovery zones at Exploration Place, where curiosity and hands-on learning took center stage! 🧠✨

What a fantastic day filled with discovery, critical thinking, teamwork, and FUN! Our 4th graders connected classroom learning to real-world experiences while making memories that will last long after the field trip ends! 🌟💚🖤

Question 1 is listed as USD 259 Proposition No. 1, and question 2 is listed as USD 259 Proposition No. 2.

Remember: Question 2 can't pass unless Question 1 passes.

When we talk about how the bond could affect property taxes, we use the median Wichita home value — just over $200,000 — as our common example.

Question 1 asks voters to approve $407.1 million in bonds. If this passes, the tax rate stays exactly where it is today. Homeowners would not see any increase in what they currently pay, unless their property valuation increases.
Question 2 asks voters to approve $207.9 million in bonds. If this passes, the property tax rate would increase, adding about $50 a year — just $4.16 a month — for the owner of a $200,000 home compared to what they're paying now.

We've heard from the community throughout this process, and $50 a year is a threshold that a majority of Wichitans have told us they'd support.
