Mission Statement: To improve the lives of those we serve while providing professional value to our partners and maintaining a family based culture. A subsidiary of Air Medical Group Holdings since August 2009, EagleMed has been in business for over thirty years. The company began operations in 1977 and conducted its first “dedicated” air medical transport patient flight on September 1st, 1981. EagleMed is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services (CAMTS) and dedicates all facets of the company towards providing the highest quality patient care in the safest environment possible. One of the oldest and most experienced air medical transport service providers in the Midwest, EagleMed operates an extensive fleet of Beechcraft King Air fixed wing aircraft. All aircraft are completely configured and medially equipped for mission critical transports that transform the aircraft into a “flying ICU”.

You may have seen a new face around EagleMed - Wichita, KS lately! Please join us in welcoming fixed wing pilot Ian Martel to our team! We are so thankful that he’s decided to join us, and he makes a great addition to our base. Read on to learn a little more about him!

Ian grew up in a small ski town in Vermont, where his love of the outdoors and aviation took off early. He earned his pilot's license in Vermont, then went on to fly commercially for a flight school in Montana before moving to Wichita. There, he worked at FlightSafety as a flight instructor and simulator copilot in the King Air 350 program, then spent the last four years flying corporate aviation.

Outside the cockpit, Ian is happiest on the move: skiing, riding his motorcycle, and chasing outdoor adventures. He also volunteers as a copilot on Doc, the B-29 Superfortress, flying warbirds and airshows around the country.
