On September 11, 2001, I started the morning in Ms. Todd’s second grade classroom at Hamilton Elementary School. I remember the hushed tone of teachers and their shocked reactions. I remember the early dismissal and the uncertainly as to why. I remember sitting in my parent’s living room and watching images play that I could never understand. No matter where you were 25 years ago, that day made an impact. And in many ways, it changed our country. But today, as we gather in solemn remembrance, let us resolve to embrace the unity of country

Yesterday, our campaign made history. We received more votes than any other primary candidate for State Representative in the history of District 32.

Throughout this campaign, I have been incredibly humbled by constant shows of support — both big and small. Everything from a thumbs up in the grocery store or on the way into the voting booth, to hours of time writing letters or knocking doors.

It is hard to find the words to adequately express my gratitude, so for now, I will simply say: thank you.

Over the next few years, I hope to prove that your trust was not misplaced as we move toward better days for our town and our state.
