🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

North Ballard Church Road will be closed to thru traffic on Monday, October 5th, from 6:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

The closure will be from Batts Road to Highway 286.

Please plan accordingly and use an alternate route during this time. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while the work is being completed.

Gum Corner Road will be closed at the US 60 end on Thursday, September 17th, from 8:00 AM until approximately 12:00 PM while crews make necessary road repairs.

Please use an alternate route during this time and use caution around crews working in the area.

During the meeting, the Fiscal Court will officially sign a proclamation declaring Ballard County, Kentucky, a Purple Heart County.

The Purple Heart designation is part of the Purple Heart Trail, established by the Military Order of the Purple Heart in 1992. Its purpose is to create a symbolic and honorary network of communities, roads, highways, bridges, and monuments that pay tribute to the courageous men and women who have been awarded the Purple Heart Medal.

Becoming a Purple Heart County serves as a lasting reminder that the freedoms we enjoy were secured through the service and sacrifice of those who were wounded or gave their lives in defense of our nation.

We especially encourage all Purple Heart recipients in Ballard County and the surrounding area to attend and be recognized as we mark this special occasion.
