1st Annual Breast Cancer Survivor Fish Fry

Today our agency got to meet with some of the strongest and most courageous people, Breast Cancer Survivors.

We enjoyed fellowship, sharing stories, and a fish plate. It was amazing to hear that some are now 40+ years cancer free and they still advocate on the behalf of others. Your strength, courage, and sense of community is an inspiration to us all.

We appreciate you all coming out and many thanks goes to our volunteers, who made the event possible.

We hope to see you at next year’s event.

Earlier this week, several men at the Stone County Regional Correctional Facility completed the first step of the Evangelism Explosion Prison Ministry program.

The program is being led at the facility by Terry Tatum with Destiny Church, working alongside SCRCF Chaplain Alfred Quave.

Evangelism Explosion focuses on Christian discipleship and begins by helping participants better understand their faith, develop their personal testimony, and learn how to share the Gospel with others. As participants progress, the program moves into deeper discipleship, mentoring, and helping others grow in their faith.

Programs such as this provide those in our custody with opportunities to examine their lives, develop positive values, and make better decisions moving forward. Completing this first step is an accomplishment, and we congratulate each of these men for the work they have put into the program.

The Stone County Sheriff’s Office and Stone County Regional Correctional Facility would also like to thank Terry Tatum, Destiny Church, Chaplain Alfred Quave, and Evangelism Explosion Prison Ministry for the time they continue to invest in the men housed at our facility.
