Before kickoff, make a night of it by exploring Downtown Wilkes-Barre's participating restaurants. It's the perfect opportunity to experience flavors from around the globe while supporting our local businesses. Then, head over to the Public Square outdoor watch party, where we'll stream the United States vs Paraguay match on giant video screen. Congratulations Andy Mehalshick on your retirement. As Franklin D. Coslett said, “That's it – that's the news.” You will be missed my friend.

If you just caught the 6pm news, you heard that it was Andy Mehalshick’s final day at 28/22 News after more than four decades in the business 📺

I just want to take a moment to say thank you to a true, living legend 🙌

Andy is one of the most genuine, humble, and real people you’ll ever meet. During today’s gathering before the announcement, while everyone was lining up for photos, I asked if we could take one at his desk — the very place where so much of our local history has been gathered, told, and preserved over the years 📰

Thank you, Andy, for being you. Wishing you all the best during this next chapter — you’ll always be an inspiration to me 👏
