In 1974, a nationwide rape crisis movement brought awareness of victims' rights to the forefront. Michele, VRC’s CEO, was honored to speak at the Capitol during yesterday’s rally. Advocates came together to call for increased funding for sexual assault and domestic violence services and for a state budget to be passed on time.
As Michele mentioned in her speech, "Victims matter. Survivors matter. The services that support them matter."

Yesterday VRC had the privilege of going back to Harrisburg. This rally at the Capitol was to discuss the issue of sexual assault and domestic violence budgets. These crimes just do not go away or disappear. Budgets on these issues need an increase and this rally was a call to do just that!
