🍕 Want to understand why the LEVY matters to your property taxes? Let’s use pizza.

Every local government wants a slice - schools, parks, libraries, fire districts, counties and more.

Individually, each slice may not seem like much.

But YOU pay for all the slices.

And every year, elected officials decide just how big those slices should be.

With budget and levy season approaching, taxpayers should be paying attention.

Because if government keeps getting more pizza… there’s less pizza left for you. 🍕💸

🏠 Home equity is NOT government’s money ... but neither are County reserves.

Protecting homeowners after a tax sale is right. But before Will County reserves millions for possible claims, taxpayers deserve to see the math.

For future cases, why not sell the property, pay what is owed and return the change? 🧾

Older claims may require County funding—but possible, probable and payable today are not the same number.

Show the claims. Show the timing. Show the math. Then hold a public hearing. 🎤

🇺🇸 Congress found tens of billions more for the Pentagon, but still wants veterans to fund veterans.

H.R. 9237 would help some veterans by relying on projected reductions in future disability compensation for others. Fortunately, final passage was postponed, and the bill can still be fixed.

America must fund its military.. BUT caring for the people who return home is part of that same obligation.

Congress found the Pentagon’s wallet. Now stop pretending it lost the veterans’ checkbook.

🇺🇸 NEW FROM AIM: HONOR THE CONTRACT

Should future veterans’ disability compensation be used to help pay for today’s veterans’ benefits?

That’s the real debate.

Our latest AIM article breaks down the Major Richard Star Act, TCAVA, Section 108, the VFW’s position, Congressman Mike Bost’s role, and why we believe there’s a better way.

“We’re from the government, and we’re here to help your real estate.”

Will County’s proposed Land Bank is supposed to step in to the real estate market by using taxpayer dollars to put certain distressed properties back into the market.

But before creating another board, another authority, and another layer of government, taxpayers deserve answers:

❓ How many properties have truly failed the market?

❓ What will this cost long term?

❓ Who benefits?

❓ What prevents mission creep?

Good intentions are easy.

Accountability is harder.

⚡ Data centers stalled.

☀️ Solar farms moving forward.

🏘️ The BUILD Act expanding Springfield's role in zoning.

Maybe the real question isn't which project gets approved.

Maybe it's:

**Who gets to decide what gets built in your community—and who pays for it?**
