The Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency has issued an Air Quality Alert for our area. Current air conditions are considered Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups due to elevated pollution and smoke levels.

Sensitive groups include:

• Individuals with asthma, COPD, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions

Recommendations for those who may be sensitive are:

Today we pause to honor and remember the brave individuals who gave their lives in service. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This week, Jackson Township Fire & Rescue proudly recognizes and celebrates EMS Week 2026.

We are proud to work alongside and support the dedicated EMS providers who serve our community and surrounding areas.

We especially want to recognize our neighboring EMS partners from Williamsburg Township Emergency Services, Stonelick Township Fire Department, and Wayne Township Fire and Rescue. Working together across township lines, our departments help ensure residents receive the highest level of emergency care and service possible.

Thank you to all EMS providers, firefighters, dispatchers, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, and first responders for your commitment, sacrifice, and service.

This day is also recognized by the Catholic Church as St. Florian Day, honoring the patron saint of firefighters.

We extend our deepest gratitude to these brave professionals who put their lives on the line every day to protect our community. Their courage, commitment, and unwavering service do not go unnoticed. Whether responding to emergencies, providing lifesaving care, or educating the public on safety, they exemplify the very best of public service.
