🍯 Sweet Things Are Happening in Warren County! 🍯

One of the best parts of economic development is working alongside our local business owners and helping them turn great ideas into opportunities for growth!

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Kate Thompson, who, along with her husband Travis, owns The Sweet Sticky Honey Co. 🐝💛

Kate and Travis attended our recent Warren Works Marketing Workshop, and afterward, Kate stopped our office to keep the conversation going!

We spent time brainstorming creative marketing strategies, new product ideas, opportunities to expand into additional retail locations, and ways to introduce their delicious honey products to even more customers. (Btw stop by High Falls Restaurant and Bar or Klumpe Family Kampground to pick up a jar of their honey - it’s delicious and great help for allergy relief !!)

And that’s what Warren Works is all about! 🙌

Our goal isn’t just to offer workshops and educational programs. It’s to build relationships, connect businesses with resources, and help our local entrepreneurs and businesses grow and succeed.

Sometimes all it takes is sitting down together, sharing ideas, and looking at a business through a fresh set of eyes to uncover exciting possibilities.

🌟 Are you a Warren County business owner or manager of a larger business with ideas for growing but aren’t sure where to start?

We’d love to sit down with you, too! Whether you’re looking to improve your marketing, expand your products or services, reach new customers, or simply bounce around some ideas, Warren County Economic Development is here to help—and our assistance is FREE!

Because when our local businesses grow, our entire community benefits. ❤️Let’s grow Warren County businesses together!

❤️ Some businesses are built to make a living. Others are built to make a difference.

Right here in Warren County, Heart & Soul Farm is a beautiful reminder that success isn’t always measured in dollars and cents. Sometimes, it’s measured in the lives we touch, the connections we create, and the kindness we share.

Founded by Aubrey Dietrich in 2018, Heart & Soul Farm was built on a simple but powerful belief: wellness, connection, and personal growth should be accessible to everyone.

Through yoga, mindful movement, holistic wellness, sustainable practices, and community gatherings, Aubrey has created something that goes far beyond a traditional business. She’s creating opportunities for people to connect, grow, and support one another. My biggest takeaway after meeting with Aubrey is that we all need to take time and JUST SHOW UP. Get off the screen and carve out some time to do some self care or take a few minutes to attend a class or community event instead of all the running around and business we create in our lives.

And perhaps what makes her work so inspiring is her commitment to putting people and purpose before profits. ❤️

In rural communities like Warren County, we sometimes underestimate the incredible people and innovative ideas growing right in our own backyard. Not only is Aubrey offering yoga classes (check out the classes she’s offering in Oxford while her studio is getting rebuilt) but making your own tea at Common Grounds Coffee shop in Williamsport in a few weeks!

But businesses like Heart & Soul Farm remind us that you don’t have to live in a big city to dream big, challenge the status quo, or make a meaningful difference.

Economic development isn’t just about attracting new businesses. It’s also about recognizing, encouraging, and celebrating the people who are already investing their hearts and souls into making our community better.

Aubrey, thank you for reminding us that one person’s passion really can create a ripple effect of positivity.

🌿 We are proud to have Heart & Soul Farm as part of the Warren County community!

I love this post. Last month we had our inaugural Warren Works networking and workshop event - the theme was marketing. Luke from High Falls Restaurant and Bar was there along with Travis and Kate Thompson, beekeepers of The Sweet Sticky Honey Co. Part of the magic of attending in person events are the connections and relationships you create! Anyway, a big takeaway from this workshop was learning what cross-marketing was and how in rural areas it’s integral to building your customer base. Luke and Travis/Kate understood the assignment and now are helping promote each others respective business! Who would think a restaurant/bar would also sell local small batch honey? We need more of these happenings where businesses work together to create economic prosperity that improves customer offerings and experiences. Happy customers = more revenue. Rome wasn’t built in a day but if we all work together to support one local business each day just think what could be accomplished!

Btw if you haven’t been to High Falls get over there, have lunch or dinner and snag some honey!

Allergies are acting up and you need REAL RAW AUTHENTIC Warren County Honey… come and get it at High Falls Restaurant and Bar! One teaspoon a day will make a noticeable improvement!

This morning our office attended the AI and Digital Marketing Summit at Ivy Tech - hosted by the Hoosier Heartland Indiana Small Business Development Center. Learning more about how AI and social media are impacting businesses and useful techniques to manage and use it effectively is something we plan on passing along to Warren County businesses next Spring thru the Warren Works Program we recently initiated. Whether we hate it or excited about the possibilities, AI is here and understanding best practices is key to improving our local economy.
