COMMUNITY SKILLS PROGRAM TRIP

This year, our Community Skills program will be taking monthly trips using River Valley Transit to build practical life skills and independence in our community!
Today, Mr. Skip and Mr. Brett from River Valley Transit taught Ms. Kurtz students how the bus system works and how to travel from the middle school to the Transit Center and back. We also met Ms. Melanie, a wonderful resource at the Transit Center! A special thank you to our drivers, Shane and Shawn, for getting us there safely and helping students learn to listen for their stops.

This was a great practice run to kick off a year of learning beyond the classroom! Thank you, River Valley Transit, for helping our students gain the skills to navigate their community with confidence!

RAISING HOPE CLUB

The Raising Hope Club supports our school’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. The club is excited to host the school Halloween dance on October 23 from 3:00–5:00 p.m.
Members also participate in the countywide Youth Development Task Force, which brings together all school districts to promote mental health awareness and educate students about the dangers of drug and alcohol use.
One of the club’s favorite activities is spreading kindness and encouragement by hanging positive messages throughout the school!
Pictured from left to right are Jasmine Confer, Hayden Day, Chloe Slaughter, Chloe Wimer, Julia Day, and Sophie Wyatt, holding Hope. Hope is a certified therapy dog who visits the school with Mrs. Rook to provide comfort and support to students.
The Raising Hope Club is proud to make a difference by spreading kindness, encouraging positive choices, and helping create a supportive school community!
