On October 24, the Williamston Police Department will join Envision Williamston, the Mayor, the Fire Department, and many of our local businesses for “Boo in the Park” as we kick off the National Halloween Safety Campaign, October 25–31.

Our officers and staff will be on hand to share important Halloween safety information and hand out fun treats to our community. The event will also feature exciting contests, activities, and plenty of Halloween fun for the whole family!

We look forward to seeing everyone there as we work together to make this Halloween a safe, fun, and memorable experience for our community.

Stay safe, have fun, and we’ll see you at Boo in the Park!

Our children depend on all of us to help keep their trip to and from school safe. Watch for students near bus stops, obey school bus stop laws, and eliminate distractions while driving. Together, we can make Williamston's roads safer for every child.

National Teen Driver Safety Week is a great reminder that safe driving starts at home.

If you have a teen driver, take a few minutes this week to talk about these family driving rules:

🚫 No texting while driving
🚫 No speeding
🚫 No driving after drinking or using drugs
🚫 No riding with impaired drivers
✅ Always buckle up
✅ Stay focused on the road

Teens are watching and learning from us every day. Let's set the example and help them build safe driving habits that last a lifetime.

A presentation on pedestrian and driver safety in Williamston, SC

10/09/2026

As a recipient of NHTSA grant funding, the Williamston Police Department is honored to participate in National Pedestrian Safety Month and help raise awareness about the importance of pedestrian safety in our community.

Everyone deserves to walk safely on our sidewalks and cross our streets without fear or unnecessary risk. Keeping our pedestrians safe is a shared responsibility that requires awareness, patience, and cooperation from everyone on the road.

Drivers, do your part!

Slow down and remain alert, especially in areas where pedestrians are present.
Look out for pedestrians before turning, backing up, or approaching crosswalks.
Yield to pedestrians as required by law.
Eliminate distractions and make pedestrian awareness part of your everyday driving habits.

A few extra seconds of caution can make the difference between a safe journey and a life-changing tragedy.
