...a message from Councilman Valentine, running for Mayor of Monroe Township.
Monroe Township Deserves a Plan.
Not Political Theater.
Not Political Rhetoric.
Not Personal Attacks.
Not lies and misinformation.
Monroe, we are better than that.
I've always believed that leadership isn't about who can shout the loudest, throw the most insults, or launch the most personal attacks. Municipal government is about who is willing to do the homework, understand the issues, tell residents the truth, and put forward a real plan.
And that's exactly my plan.
While political rhetoric, accusations, and misleading narratives continue to dominate this election, I'm focused on something far more important, the future of Monroe Township.
Our newly published 8-page edition of MONROE TOWNSHIP TODAY goes beyond campaign promises. It lays out our priorities, examines municipal financial records, and explains how we intend to move Monroe forward.

>> Since 2022, Monroe's municipal-purpose tax levy has INCREASED $6.56 MILLION (27.5%).
>> The 2026 municipal budget has INCREASED $47.5 MILLION.
Let's Talk About Monroe's Future.
Our publication outlines our specific priorities:
> NO DATA CENTERS: Protect our neighborhoods, infrastructure, and quality of life. I "flip-flopped" my vote and started the data center ban with an ordinance that I introduced, for you. https://heartbeatofmonroe.com/who-led-the-ban
> RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT: Stop sacrificing farmland and wooded properties for incompatible development.
> FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: Scrutinize spending, eliminate waste, and work to hold the line on property taxes.
> GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY: Make municipal contracts, professional fees, redevelopment decisions, and financial information more accessible to taxpayers.
> SMART ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: Revitalize our existing business corridors, attract appropriate businesses, create jobs, and strengthen our tax base.
> PROTECT OUR FARMS AND OPEN SPACE: Preserve the character of the community we love.
> GIVE RESIDENTS A VOICE: Make sure the public has meaningful opportunities to participate BEFORE major decisions are made.
And that's only part of our plan.
Here's the difference. We are not just telling you what we are against. We are telling you what we are FOR, and how we intend to get there - with you.
You don't build a stronger township by tearing people down. You don't lower taxes with insults. You don't protect farmland with political rhetoric. You don't balance budgets by lying about your opponents. And you certainly don't earn the public's trust by twisting facts to fit a political narrative.
You earn trust by doing the work, presenting the facts, answering difficult questions, and being accountable to the people you serve.
I encourage every resident to read the information. Review the numbers. Ask questions. Make an informed decision.
