The 2026 Eisner Awards have been announced! If you’re a fan of comic books, you’ll definitely want to stop by and check out our display features awardees and submissions!

Named for the pioneering comics creator and graphic novelist Will Eisner, the Eisner Awards, considered the “Oscars” of the comic book industry, will be given out in 32 categories for works published in 2025. All attendees will also get a program listing the nominees.

Through a series of directed readings and writing prompts, join writer, Jane Smith, Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. in October for a four-week workshop for adults at any level.

This workshop provides a mutually supportive place to kickstart your unique creative voice. You'll be able to move what you want to say—what you need to say—from your head to the page. All are welcome!

Please sign up as space is limited, and plan on attending all four workshops.

Join the library for our first Career and Job Development Expo Tuesday, October 27th, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.! The expo's goal is to create an inclusive, accessible, and community-centered hub that connects job seekers, local residents, community members, and students with:

- Employers
- Internship and training opportunities
- Résumé and interview support
- Useful community resources

At the fair, you'll be able to meet with local organizations who are hiring, receive resume help, print new business cards, set up and refine your LinkedIn, and more!

There are twelve new bestsellers, three new movies, and 42 other new books.

The new bestsellers this week include "Exit Party," "The Thoroughbreds," and "Happy Snacking, Don't Die! Foraging and Vegan Recipes with Black Forager." The new movies this week are "Toy Story 5," "Minions & Monsters," and "PAW Patrol: Dino Rescue."

The wait is over! Come celebrate the Grand Opening of Studio1095, the Milne Public Library’s new MakerSpace and audio/podcasting studio Thursday, October 29th.

Join us for an afternoon/evening of exploring, creating, and celebrating this long-awaited new space. Take a tour, try your hand at a variety of hands-on activities, see demonstrations, and discover all the ways you can use Studio1095.

Whether you're an experienced maker, a creative hobbyist, or simply curious about what you can do here, come explore Studio1095 and see what's possible!

Snacks and refreshments will be served in the Community Room. All ages are welcome.
