🚌 School is back—and so are the buses!

National School Bus Safety Week and National Teen Driver Safety Week are both underway, making this a good time for every driver to reset a few habits:

🛑 Stop when a school bus displays flashing red lights and its stop arm
🚸 Watch carefully for children near bus stops and school zones
📵 Put the phone away before the vehicle starts moving
💺 Make sure everyone is buckled up
🐢 Slow down and leave extra following distance
⏰ Leave early enough that running late does not become reckless driving

Parents, please remind young drivers that the safest trip is the one where everyone arrives—even if arriving involves hearing, “I told you we should have left earlier.”

Let’s help Willis students and bus drivers begin the week safely.

Tuesday’s National Night Out was a wonderful reminder of what makes our community special! Thank you to everyone who joined us, spent time with our officers, and helped make the evening a success. 🚔

A big thank-you to our vendors and community partners, Kroger for hosting us in their parking lot, and Willis Public Works for their hard work and support!

And a DOUBLE BIG SHOUT-OUT to the Willis High School CTE Law Enforcement Cadets! 👏👏 These cadets went above and beyond throughout the entire event and stayed to help with cleanup. Your willingness to serve and pitch in did not go unnoticed—we appreciate each of you!

From the first hello to the last piece of trash picked up, this event took a team, and we’re grateful for ours. Thank you for showing up for Willis! 💙

🩷 We honor those affected by breast cancer, celebrate survivors, support those facing treatment, and remember the loved ones we have lost.

💜 We stand with survivors of domestic violence and those still seeking safety. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported. You are not alone.

Behind every ribbon is a person, a family, and a story. This October—and throughout the year—let’s lead with compassion, look out for one another, and keep these conversations going. 💙🚔

The Willis Police Department extends our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the family and friends of Detention Officer Anon Hoffman.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Hoffman’s family, loved ones, and his entire law enforcement family as they navigate this devastating loss.

We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in peace, Detention Officer Hoffman. 💙🖤

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is heartbroken by the loss of Detention Officer Anon Hoffman.

Detention Officer Hoffman, 21, passed away today following a motorcycle accident in Austin County, TX. He had proudly served the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for the past two years, a role he truly loved.

Anon was deeply loved by his shift mates, friends, and colleagues throughout MCSO. His absence will be felt profoundly across our agency.

Anon’s father serves as a Sergeant with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and his mother works in our Central Jail Records Division. They are not only members of the Hoffman family, but cherished members of our MCSO family as well.

Our hearts are heavy as we grieve alongside them. Please join us in keeping the Hoffman family, Anon’s loved ones, and all those who worked beside him in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
