🌎 Exploring Earth's Layers at WMSCC!

Students in Mrs. Happy's classroom at Williston Middle School Central Campus got hands-on with science last week as they wrapped up their lesson on Earth's layers!

Using playdough, students built models of the Earth to explore its internal structure. They also used paint and Styrofoam balls to create and label the different layers.

These creative activities brought science to life, giving students a fun way to visualize what they've learned and put their knowledge into action!

πŸ§‘πŸ–€ Great work, students!

πŸ“Έ Thank you to Mrs. Happy for sharing these photos and giving us a peek inside her classroom!

🚌🧑 It's National School Bus Safety Week!

Every school day, students across Williston Basin School District #7 rely on safe, dependable transportation to get to and from school.

We're grateful for our transportation partner, Harlow's School Bus Service, and the dedicated bus drivers who help keep our students safe each day!

School bus safety is everyone's responsibility! Here are a few important reminders:

🟠 For Students: Stay back from the curb while waiting, follow your driver's instructions, and always look both ways before crossing the street.

🟠 For Drivers: Slow down near school buses, watch for children, and NEVER pass a bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.

🟠 For Families: Remind students to arrive at their bus stop early, stay alert, and avoid distractions when boarding or exiting the bus.

Throughout the week, we'll share more safety tips and highlight the people who help get our students to school and home safely!

πŸ§‘πŸ–€ Safe rides. Bright futures.

Today, we're recognizing the principals, assistant principals, directors, supervisors, and department leaders who help keep WBSD7 moving forward!

From supporting staff and navigating challenges to celebrating successes and creating opportunities for students, leadership makes a difference throughout our district.

A special thank you to Superintendent Dr. Jason Germundson for his leadership and dedication to our school community.

Thank you to all of our WBSD7 leaders for the time, energy, and commitment you bring to your roles each day!

πŸ‘ Take a moment to recognize a leader who has made a positive impact on you!

πŸŽ“ D.A.R.E. Graduation Day!

Congratulations to our fifth graders at Sloulin the first school to complete the D.A.R.E. program this school year! πŸ‘πŸ–€β€οΈ

School Resource Officers McClellan and Cook have been working with students to build skills for making safe, healthy, and responsible decisions.

With fifth graders now attending our elementary schools rather than WMSCC, D.A.R.E. instruction has shifted to a more concentrated schedule, allowing officers to rotate through each of elementary schools throughout the school year.

The Williston Police Department SROs lead D.A.R.E. at our 6 in-town elementary schools, while Williams County Sheriff's Office, ND deputies provide the program at our 2 rural schools.

A big thank you to our law enforcement partners for their continued commitment to our students, and congratulations to Sloulin's fifth-grade D.A.R.E. graduates! πŸŽ‰

With National Principals Month in full swing and Boss's Day tomorrow, this is just one example of how schools across WBSD7 are showing their principals some extra love and appreciation!

πŸ§‘πŸ–€ Keep celebrating those amazing school leaders!
